RE: Which router to choose for port scanning

I second that! I just picked up a Cisco 857 DSL router w/ 4 LAN ports,
12.4(6) IOS and 5 VPN termination/origination for ~$275USD. That was after
shipping (in the US).

Have a look at the Cisco 877 (or the older 837) DSL routers, they are
around $400 USD and offer a TON of features.

Subject: Which router to choose for port scanning

Hi there,

we're currently looking for small DSL-Routers to make lot's of different

DSL lines for stress-testing and parallel scanning. In the past we've
experienced some problems using SoHo Routers like Draytek and others
when doing port scans over the attached DSL lines. The devices were not
reliable or even crashed completely.

Has anyone experiences with DSL-Routers != Cisco and doing port scans?
!= Cisco means pricing should be under ~300 EUR each.

Thanks,

Toby
