XSS vulnerabiilty testing and impact

Hi,
I noticed that a very common way to detecting XSS in a lot of
penetration testing tools is to input the script in the form fields
and checking the return after submission. If the returned page
contains the original user input and execute the script, then we
confirm that user input is not sanitized and XSS exists.
My question is if the user inputs are not displayed to any other users
ANYWHERE in the application, what's the impact of this XSS
vulnerability? Or are we still consider this as an XSS vulnerability?
Can malicious intruders still take advantage of this?
regards,
Rick Zhong
