Re: Hidden Copying Software

Well, it's not that easy. XP+ doesn't "autorun" removable storage devices
like USB drives. Only CD/DVD media support "autorun" unless you have a
"special" usb drive that presents itself as a CD specifically for that
functionality, or you had some "auto-mount" software on the machine to begin
with.

It can of course be done, but it's not the simple "catch-all" of levering
autorun that many think it to be.

Autorun.ini pointing to a batch file that copies the contents of the entire
USB stick.

Or by manipulating the Windows autorun when its plugged into the USB drive.

Tell your friend to encrypt his exams.

Subject: Hidden Copying Software

Hi list,

A friend of mine who is a medical professor asked me if it is possible to
copy his usb thumb drive from their class room pc without knowing it? he
told me maybe there's a hidden software that copying it in the background?

His exam from his usb thumbdrive was exposed all over to his student.I told
him that you need a very high tech software or expensive to do it? Is any
such software capable of this? this some kind of impossible task in my
views.

Thanks.
