Re: Pen-Test Blackberry

We have ran across the same issues in regards to BlackBerry testing-

Except the scope of the onsite hack was to intercept data from tagged C-level exec's.

What we did was to compromise the Blackberry Server using Metasploit and uploaded Getscreen.exe ( Like remote desktop but connects over RPC/Named pipes to provide a GUI ).

This provided us with GUI access to the BB server.
Then we did a search to find the executives BB accounts- At this point we wanted to forward/intercept traffic from the BB server...

Due to time restraints we ended up compromising the internal Exchange servers and forwarded mail that way...

Bascially, I a DOS condition was possible by resetting/changing passwords and deleting accounts on the BB server but we weren't successful in forwarding email to an alais using the BB server.. so we did this using the Exchange environment.

TO summarize: I'd look at compromising the BB server or desktops on the internal lan and go from there.

If you can find a way to put yourself in the middle of the communication you got your data. This should be easier than having to break encryption etc...

You also have the DoS capabilities if you compromise the BB server..

Cheers,

Josh Perrymon
