A good place to start for auditing/testing Samba servers are the tools inherent to Windows (net use, net view etc.) and the Windows Resource Kit tools. Since SAMBA is designed to work with Windows (SMB/CIFS), you can use the same tools for it as you would to begin to audit a Windows file server.
