Generally an exclusion list of IP Adressses is created on the DHCP server
along with the range to assign. You can specify which IP's are for the
gateway, dns, dhcp server, etc... Generally the excluded addresses are used
for any device that requires a static ip. The DHCP server knows not to
assign them to another host.

Subject: Getting Printer IP Addresses Prior to Pen Testing - Question About
DHCP
DHCP allocates IP addresses dynamically. How does DHCP know which (fixed
printer) IP addresses to stay away from? Does anyone know of a way to get
this list?
