    Hi everyone,

You may have noticed a lag in the list in recent weeks, this is entirely
my fault and I apologize for it. Work (as with many of us) has been
particularly hectic of late and as a result the list has suffered.

While I am posting I thought I would post a quick few notes.

    1. X Posting

I will from time to time allow X-posting but will not allow for responses
from other lists. Its logistically a nightmare and causes mailer confusion
    and end user frustration.

    2. Reject postings.

I frequently do not outright reject posts but let them linger until the
queue spits them back to the poster. Its simply a matter of time, I
moderate about 300 messages a day on the list and approve very few. I
should actually reject messages which are not destined to the list but its
time consuming so I do not. Sorry.

    3. SQL Audit tools

I posted some time ago asking about SQL auditing tools and promised to
post my results back to the list as soon as I had a chance to get it all
written up. Regrettably just as I was about to get engaged with it my time
got hijacked. Both the good folks from Application Security Inc. and
NGSSoftware offered up their products for review but I never actually had
the chance to take a look at them. However, I did receive probably 40
pieces of email around both products. All of the comments were
complimentary which in and of itself is unusual in this industry. I would
suggest people in the market for such software give both vendors a shot.
    Both parties were very responsive.
