We also get big phishing spikes like this from time to time. Our big spikes
usually include phishes for several local banks instead of just the typical
online ones. These are generally sent through a dictionary attack (random US
surnames at domain dot com) and to a short list of real addresses.
I guess that they are targeted at a list of businesses in a particular
region for each batch of the phishing spam.
