SUS problems do not appear related to that, as our SUS SP1 is still
working fine and so are many others. However, it does appear that the
ongoing problems at Windows Update in general are causing many SUS
systems to fail.

Software Update Services ?
I might be wrong but isn't that the only way it is able to update it's
cache
