No, the procedure hasn't changed. It was also necessary to edit those
other file on Solaris 2.6. I've never seen it mentioned in
documentation (though I haven't read all the Solaris docs) and the only
place I've heard it before was from somebody who had been to an advanced
Solaris sysadmin class taught by Sun.
You should also /etc/nodename which contains the hostname and is used in
/etc/init.d/network to set the hostname in non-dhcp (or non-rarp)
configurations.
