In any case I would suggest +14 characters in order to disable
lanman-hashes, if a system is compromised
http://lasecwww.epfl.ch/~oechslin/projects/ophcrack/ WILL crack the
password. Even with special characters, there are still commercial
tables available, or even on a file share near you :)
