    Dani,

I use the command line shutdown for the few machines that I have removed
the the shutdown gui. Xp units.

    SHUTDOWN -r -t 10 Delayed reboot Reboot after a 10 seconds delay.

Can be stopped during those 10 seconds using SHUTDOWN -a

SHUTDOWN -s -t 01 Delayed shutdown Shutdown after a 1 second delay, NO
    power off.

If you block the run command .. a script with Icon .. run as xyz as needed.

Shutdown.exe is in the XP material and is part of the Win2k Resource Kit
    for win2k.

    or

    http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/psshutdown.shtml

I also adjusted the bios power on options to deal with a power outage ..
when one wants a unit to stay on 24x7.

    /don
