    I installed SP2 on several machines on my domain am monitoring closely for
    application issues. We all know it is enabled on Network and Dial-up
    adapters by default. It does have File and Printer Sharing enabled on the
    protected Network connections after install. I however don't see this as an
    exploit or bug, but just another detail to remember to check if you don't
    want it enabled after install. I think the editors just poorly explained the
    article or jumped the gun too quickly.

    I think you're right. I read through the first two
    lines of the SP2 "issue"...this "certain
    configuration" they're talking about is essentially
    allowing file and printer sharing, even with the f/w
    enabled. Uh...duh!
