    EZ-Audit (www.ezaudit.net) does the trick.
    Runs on the client typically through client logon script.
    Default operation reads the registry for installed apps, but can do full
    scan for Exe's & DLL's.

    From EzAudit:
    Audit PCs from LAN, WAN, Intranet, CD or floppy
    Audit totally silently, or prompt users to enter data
    Audit on your choice of schedule - daily, every 'x' days
    Audit On Demand any PC, any time from your desktop - great for
    troubleshooting and help desk users
    Audit Windows 95 through Server 2003
    Runs from NT4, 2000, 2003 servers, as well as Novell 4 or higher

    Dear All;

    I am looking for a tool that could scan a network and give a report on
    installed applications. We have a large developer wing and the guys are
    installing all sorts of applications on the PC. Does anyone know of
    something that can do this?

    Kind Regards
    Schalk vd Merwe
