Windows Update for XP

Tried to use WU (from the start menu)this past weekend. After scanning my machine, WU would not display the patches when I selected review and install. Instead, WU opened a window within that browser window and prompted me to scan my machine again. I repeated the process and got another window and scan prompt. Never could look at patches, review what was going on, etc... This went on SAT and SUN.

Weird thing... I tried the windows update from the toolbar which was auto-prompting me (flashing). It showed me a patch from MAR 2002!!!! that needed loading. I have been judicious about keeping up on patches. How could WUpdate (that I access from my Start menu not see this patch was missing) and the WU in my toolbar think it is missing?
