It is possible that either the patch was included in a roll-up (although I
don't believe that is the case in this instance) or that the file attributes
are for some reason different than what hfnetchk is looking for. See the
table below in regards to Q314147:

GMT-UTC Date Time Version Size File name
   -------------------------------------------------------
   25-Feb-2002 20:08 4.0.1381.7136 50,960 INETMIB1.DLL
   20-Feb-2002 16:18 4.0.1381.7134 17,680 MGMTAPI.DLL
   20-Feb-2002 16:19 4.0.1381.7134 18,192 SNMP.EXE
   20-Feb-2002 16:19 4.0.1381.7134 24,848 SNMPAPI.DLL
   13-Feb-1999 00:02 4.0.1381.164 14,608 SNMPSFX.DLL

In addition, it is possible, but not likely, that the person executing the
scans does not have "read" access to a place in the file system where
hfnetchk is searching.

Hope this helps
Michael

Subject: hfnetchk reporting

Hi,

Several systems folks here have run into the issue of hfnetchk reporting
"Patch NOT Found" after applying the appropriate patches and rebooting. This
seem to be consistent of both NT and 2000 (though I haven't replicated this
issue myself). Anyone run into this issue with hfnetchk.exe?

here's one particular patch on an NT 4.0 sp6a server:

Patch NOT Found MS02-006 Q314147

Ideas?

Jared
