Converting to NTFS will probably break the diagnostic routines. Check with
HP before you change it.
Diagnostics partitions are typically used for low-level routines, hardware
diagnostics, copies of drivers, etc. They are not typically setup as
mountable (e.g. standard FAT), but are hidden. You may find it's not even
"mounted" to your W2K server.
Much like pressing DEL or F2 takes you to the BIOS setup during boot, access
to the diagnostic partition usually requires physical access to the machine.

Subject: : FAT (in)secure ?
Hello all,
During the install on my HP Lxr8000 server in noticed that the HP
Navigator CD creates a diagnotisc FAT partition. One of the first things
todo to secure my W2k/IIS server is to format all partitions NTFS. Just
wondering how (in)secure this FAT partition is or does anyone know were
I can find some documentation about it.
Kind regards,
Ronald Balk
