IE headers w patch level

After MS01-058 (13 Dec "cumulative patch"), IE 5.5/6 started including the
patch-level in the http request header:

Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+6.0;+Windows+98;+Q312461)
Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+5.5;+Windows+98;+AltaVista+1.01.01;+T312461)
Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+6.0;+Windows+98;+Win+9x+4.90;+T312461;+Q312461
)

Does anyone know if this will be done with future patches, and what the
purpose might be?
