hi!

I have some Win2k workstations in my NT 4.0 domain,
and I use policy's to block access to the local drive, and network neighbor
hood...

some am able to get access to the C:\ drive thru "MS-Help"
I am not really sure why Policy's will block access to the local drives thru
"My-Computer"
but not Explorer?

Thanks~

First there are two ways to gain access to "secure" areas. The first uses
the help function off of the Start button.
I only went to the "Files" option then "moving and copying", but their is
probably more than one way to navigate to a similar place.
In side of the main pane it will bring up a link to the "Windows Explorer",
click that.
You have just gained access to the local drive (c:)

The second way uses the My Documents Folder. If you open this and then the
"My Pictures" folder, you have a link on the left pane that goes to "My
Network Places". This link will take you to the appropriate Explorer
screen, HOWEVER, ***IT DOESN'T DISPLA
Y ANYTHING!!!!***. The concern on that one comes when you click the
"Search" option on the toolbar. This will allow you to search the Network
for computers...with the basic knowledge the the "*" will pull up anything
and everything, and bingo, you have
a whole bunch of computers that are attached to the network.
