I'll be reloading my server that runs Exchange 5.5 SP4 and am uncertain to
appropriate patching order.
Thus far I've done the following:
1) Install NT4.0 and applied SP6a
2) Installed Exchange 5.5
3) Installed Exchange 5.5 SP4 updates
4) Installed all post SP4 hotfixes for exchange based on MS Product Search
and Technet bulleting Search
5) Re applied SP6a
Now this is where I'm not sure if there is an appropriate order for the next
few steps.
I need to apply NT4.0 SRP and the IIS Cumulative Patch but I'm not sure
which I should do first. My best thought is to just run both with -z -m
flags and then run QCHAIN.EXE and let it sort out the DLLs so the most
recent are used, would this be a good or bad idea?
Lastly, after getting those applied, I believe the only necessary hotfix
related to NT4.0, IIS 4.0, or Exchange 5.5 SP4 is the Malformed RPC Endpoint
Mapper hotfix, which I would apply last. in my list. Can anyone thing of
anything else that I may be missing? (There is no NNTP service running on
this server so the NNTP memory leak hotfix isn't necessary)
