There was no NFSv3 standard for ACLs... for that matter, there wasn't a
real POSIX standard for them either, just draft.
NFSv4 has ACLs not unlike NT's ACL system..
With that said, Red Hat RHEL, SuSE, and some others include ACL patches
and NFS support for them. RHEL 3 has ACL and NFS support of them... but
they won't be interoperable w/ the other majors vendors, not cleanly at
least.
Sun Solaris did there own thing, etc. It was a free-for-all and it's not
clear any of them care for compatibility..
