The Firewall Toolkit (which does work on Linux) is great for proxying
FTP connections. I've used it several times for that without aa hitch.
Last time I checked, it required a small patch for reverse FTP proxying,
but once that was applied I could pass FTP requests from one box off to
an FTP server running on any port on another box.
