If by "secure" you mean only the transport layer and not authentication, I
recommend regular NFS over an encrypted CIPE tunnel. The NFS shares reside
on a remote host and are tunneled to my local network via my firewall.
Then I can mount securely the remote shares on any host on my local
network just by connecting to the remote host's CIPE interface.
