Sendmail and access db

According to docs on sendmail.org, you can specify IP addresses, in full or in
part (for wildcard use), you can also set user@spammer.com...I assumed you
could also set @spammer.com as well, but it appears that can't be used as I
received mail after setting it.
Sendmail 8.11.6, and yes, I did make the map after altering /etc/mail/access.

/etc/mail/access:

@spamdomain.com ERROR, unsolicited mail domain.

Is the syntax @domain.com invalid in access?
