Question: is there some page that lists a bunch of things which are good
Systems Administration practise? Such as:
- security
- having a logging server
- Having IDS
- having a package manager
- documenting *everything*, both in a log book, and systems doco
- Ensuring you know where to find help
- Having an emergency kit
- Having an auto-setup disk
Is there any place that lists all these kinds of things? I know them
because I like good organisation, and have kept an eye out for such things
(in spite of only having been a sysadmin for 4 months :) ), whereas those
previously in my job just had no idea about these things (especially doco).
