You will need to set the correct local time zone.

Create a symbolic link from local time to your time zone:
ln –sf ../usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Pacific /etc/localtime

Set hwclock to system clock:
/sbin/hwclock --systohc --utc

This is a little old, but the idea is the same.
