        You could have a look at a book called:

        "Intrusion Detection: Network Security Beyond the Firewall"
        by Terry Escamilla

        There is a on-line companion for the book at:
        www.wiley.com/compbooks/escamilla

        As for articles, I have a link in my notes:

        but just doubleckecked it and its 404 :(
        Then again, securityportal is not giving me anything anyway, so
        maybe this is temporary?
