I believe you just missed a thread relating to this. But to answer your
specific question, we have to understand what it is exactly that you want
your IDS to do :-) Then one can figure out what one must test for, and
then decide what application(s) best suit your needs. And if the reply is
"catch bad guys", I am afraid of your current situation.
