RE: ssh error krb5 LINUX openssh

All

We have been using ssh on our linux servers for a while (2.6.18-53.el5
x86_64) until one day the other day we encountered this message

debug1: SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS received
debug1: SSH2_MSG_SERVICE_REQUEST sent
debug1: SSH2_MSG_SERVICE_ACCEPT received
debug1: Authentications that can continue:
publickey,gssapi-with-mic,password
debug1: Next authentication method: gssapi-with-mic
debug1: Unspecified GSS failure. Minor code may provide more
information Unknown code krb5 195

Have you tried running kinit for the account in question on the box
itself? Usually kinit will give you a more detailed message if something
is wrong.

Can you explain the relationship with kinit & ssh as we were just using
keys generated with ssh-keygen & no KDC's
