Re: Fw: Host Key Verification Failed

The key for hostB is already in the authorized_keys file on hostA.

And the .ssh directory is NOT writeable by anyone but the owner.

Re: Fw: Host Key Verification Failed

Wood.Chris,

Are the group and other permissions for the home directory of the user on
the server you are trying to login to -w?
user@hostB> chmod og-w ~

This philosophy here is that if the directory containing the .ssh
directory that contains the authorized_keys file is writable by people
beside the owner than others could possibly modify acceptable keys and log
in as the user.

The public key for hostA is in the known_hosts file of hostB.

Here are the uncommented lines only from sshd_config on hostA, which is
the same as the file from hostB

Subsystem sftp /usr/libexec/openssh/sftp-server
