Dear all,
I have seen following "feature". I'm not sure, if it is a ssh-, linux- or X11-"feature"
but somewhere must I start.
I have two boxes:
notebook:
SuSE 7.3 Linux
ssh (OpenSSH_2.9p2)
Netscape 7
KDE 2.2.2
bash 2.05.0(1)
SuSE-Personal Firewall = active
server:
SuSE 7.3 Linux
ssh
Netscape 4.78
KDE 2.2.2
bash 2.05.0(1)
I work with my notebook and open some Netscape-windows (on notebook -> v7).
Than (from the same console but another shell -> in KDE console can be in the
same console more) I do following:
grema@notebook> ssh -X grema_user@server
RESULT: I'm successful logged on the server.
Than call I netscape (4.78) on the server:
grema_user@server> netscape&
RESULT: I have a Netscape window, but Netscape7 ! This Netscape was started
really local (I have seen my local /home (-> /home of notebook) )
SUMMARY: I have been executed from "server" process on my local box.
I (we) have this behaviour reproduced. Also with other machines.
user@workstation <-> grema_user@server
(grema_user@server -> the same user and the same server as in previous example)
than have I killed all local(@notebook) Netscapes. And the "Netscape7@server"
was killed also as local process (grema@notebook> killall netscape-bin)
At now it is no more possible to reproduce this behaviour.
It is a ssh-bug?
Any other ideas?
Thank you for answer.
Regards
Martin
