Hi,
client: SSH Version 1.2.25 on SunOS 5.6
Server: sshd version OpenSSH_3.5p1 on Linux 2.4.18
My idle sessions get killed periodically. I've not investigate
thoroughly to see what is causing this but tried to enable
the "keepalive" option to make sure that there is some traffic
between the client and the server but my session still gets
killed; however, if I run something which generates traffic,
eg, top or ping, my session stays open.
1- What's exactly "keepalive" do? And what's the difference
with the "Heartbeat" patch?
2- How can I make sure that the keepalive packets are being
sent and how can I tweak the frequency of it?
3- Any other solution to my problem? (I know, I need to properly
define the problem first; let's say my problem is that I need
to have "keepalive" in 1 min intervals)
Thanks,
Ramin
