MagpieRSS Remote Command Execution
------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY
" <http://magpierss.sourceforge.net/> MagpieRSS provides an XML-based
(expat) RSS parser in PHP."
MagpieRSS does not properly validate user provided input allowing
attackers to cause the program to execute arbitrary code.
DETAILS
Vulnerable Systems:
* MagpieRSS version 0.71.1 and prior
Immune Systems:
* MagpieRSS version 0.72
A vulnerability has been identified in MagpieRSS that could be exploited
by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. This flaw is due to an
input validation error in the "_httpsrequest" function of Snoopy when
passing malformed URLs to the "exec()" call, which could be exploited by
remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a specially crafted
URL.
