FastStone 4in1 Browser Directory Traversal
------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY
" <http://www.faststone.org/> FastStone 4in1 Browser is a FREE
multi-window Web Browser with a built-in Web Server, a fully functional
FTP Client and a drag & drop Image Viewer"
FastStone 4in1 Browser does not properly sanitize the directory reference
found inside URLs, this allows an attacker that is able to lure a user to
enter to his web site to read files that reside on the user's computer.
DETAILS
Vulnerable Systems:
* FastStone 4in1 Browser version 1.2
Immune Systems:
* FastStone 4in1 Browser version 1.3
The program by default has some checks to avoid malicious patterns like
"/../" found in HTTP requests, but it doesn't filter out patterns like:
"\..\", "../" or "/.../".
By utilizing the directory traversal vulnerability an attacker that can
lue a user to access his web site is able to see and download all the
files on the user's system.
Examples:
http://[host]/.../.../.../.../.../.../windows/system.ini
http://[host]/..\..\..\..\..\..\..\..\windows/system.ini
