PWebServer Directory Traversal Vulnerability

SUMMARY
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/pwebserver/> PWebServer is "a simple
Java multi-threaded Web Server that supports HTTP/1.0 protocol.It mainly
meant as an educational example". A directory traversal vulnerability in
the product allows remote attackers to access files and directories that
are outside the bounding HTML root directory.
DETAILS
Vulnerable Systems:
* PWebServer version 0.3.3
Immune Systems:
* PWebServer version 0.3.4
Due to a vulnerability in the program patterns like "/../" are not
blocked, allowing an attacker to view and download all the files on the
remote system using a browser.
Examples:
To test the vulnerability:
http://[host]:6789/../someFile
Or:
http://[host]:6789/../../../../etc/passwd
