Oracle Toplink Mapping Workbench Password Algorithm
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    SUMMARY

     <http://otn.oracle.com/products/ias/toplink/data***.html> TopLink
"provides powerful features designed to minimize expensive database hits
and network traffic, yet also leverage optimization features of JDBC and
the underlying databases. This results in a combined improvement of
    developer productivity and application performance."

A new paper explains the algorithm and sample code of the encryption
algorithm used in Oracle's toplink mapping workbench. This code can be
used to decrypt the passwords held in the XML file easily.

    DETAILS

<http://www.planet-source-code.com/vb/scripts/ShowCode.asp?txtCodeId=803&lngWId=5> The paper explains the algorithm used by the Toplink Mapping Workbench and it can be used to manually create the encrypted password generated by the Oracle Mapping Work Bench. With a little work it is also possible to decrypt the password stored in the XML file.
