Remote DoS Vulnerability in NeoModus Direct Connect
------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY
Direct Connect is "a Windows p2p file-sharing program", a vulnerability in
the product allows remote attackers to cause the product to hang by
causing it to connect to multiple hosts (unneeded connections).
DETAILS
The Direct Connect client after receiving a "$Connect ToMe..." command
from hub, tries to connect to specific IP and PORT sent by the Downloader.
An attacker can send infinite requests to HUB with specific marked ip:port
causing it to no longer be able to respond to legitimate requests.
Little example:
for (;;) { dc_send("$ConnectToMe victim
www.microsoft.com:%d",sample_port++); }
Impact:
The attacked client may be DoS-ed in case of that Internet connection can
be restarted or disconnected, some clients may send out "Out of Memory"
