PerlEdit Vulnerable to a Remote DoS (Interrupted Connection)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    SUMMARY

<http://www.indigostar.com/perledit.html> PerlEdit is an IDE for Perl and
a general-purpose text editor. It includes a source code text editor with
syntax highlighting and a visual debugger. A vulnerability allows remote
attackers to cause the service to crash by connecting to it, and then
    immediately disconnecting.

    DETAILS

    Vulnerable systems:
     * PerlEdit version 1.07 and prior

Upon execution PerlEdit binds to local TCP port 1956. By connecting via
telnet locally or remotely an attacker can cause the program to crash,
resulting in a total loss of unsaved data.
