  XSS Hole in Fluid Dynamics Search Engine
------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY

 <http://www.xav.com/> FD Search Engine is an easy-to-install search
engine for local and remote sites. Returns fast, accurate results from a
template-driven architecture. Freeware and shareware versions available,
with Perl source code included. A security vulnerability in the product
allows attackers to insert malicious HTML and JavaScript code.

DETAILS

For a multiple result pages search, the script uses the variable Rank that
contains current result number. Anything could be written into, including
HTML tags.

Example:
http://www.xav.com/search.pl?Realm=All&Match=0&Terms=test&nocpp=1&maxhits=10&Rank=><h1>XSS</h1>
