Lysias Li*** Web Server Suffers from a Directory Traversal Vulnerability
------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY
<http://www.lysias.de/> Lysias Li*** Webserver is quite a small web
server (Installation file is about 700 KB) and offers various features
including SSL-Support. A security vulnerability in the product allows
attackers to traverse up the root directory and access files that reside
outside the normally bounding HTML root directory.
DETAILS
Vulnerable systems:
* Lysias Li*** Webserver version 0.7b
Trying to access the following URL: http://localhost////./../.../ will
allow an attacker to access directories outside the bounding HTML root
directory.
Impact:
The Server root can be exited and almost any file on the same disk could
be downloaded (including password files or other sensitive information).
It seems like it is not possible to enter directories in this way which
have a space in their name (%20 at the browser).
