Claris Emailer Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY
<http://www.mac.org/internet/emailer/> Claris Emailer is a mail client
for Macintosh. This mail client has a problem that involves its file name
handling routines, which leads to a buffer overflow when handling long
file name.
DETAILS
Vulnerable systems:
Claris Emailer-J version 2.0v1
When Claris Emailer client receives an email, it will automatically save
it to temporary folder, and interpret that file. While it tries to
interpret it, if the file name is too long, a buffer overflow will occur.
This would allow an attacker to cause the operating system to execute
arbitrary code.
