Gnutella Linux Client HTML Injection Vulnerability
------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY

A security vulnerability in <http://www.gnutelliums.com/linux_unix/gnut/>
Gnut, a console/www Gnutella client for Linux and Windows, allows the
injection of html code in the search result page of the web front-end.

DETAILS

Vulnerable systems:
Gnut versions prior to 0.4.27

Immune systems:
Gnut version 0.4.27 and above

The vulnerability occurs whenever a filename of a file shared contains
HTML tags embedded in it (for example, test<HR>.mp3).
The risk is increased further by the fact that the web front-end often
runs from localhost, thus circumventing many browser security
policies/settings.
