The Update.inf for the respective XP versions seems to contain the
information for the other version. 64-bit info in the 32-bit .inf, and
vice versa. Note that the 64-bit version seems to say that it requires a
minimum of SP1 in order to install "MinNtServicePackVersion = 256" and
will be included in SP2. But the 32-bit version is missing all of this,
so it will only install on SP0/Gold/RTM and wouldn't be taken off.
I don't know if any of this is fact yet because on my XP systems when I
try to install the 32-bit version I get an error telling me the update
failed on the 1st line of the pre-requisites. That line makes
requirements on DXPlay.dll, but I'm not sure what EqualOp means. I'm
running DirectX 9.0b, and my DXPlay.dll is version 5.03.0000.0900
according to DXDiag.
We've had problems installing this on 64-bit machines, where the
installer says that it cannot be installed on 64-bit (yet its the 64-bit
version of the download.) I suspect this is because of the SP
requirements?
Anyone else having problems?
