    A final reminder about this year's NTBugtraq Retreat. If you are planning on attending, please respond right away. So far the number of confirmed attendees is so low I may have to cancel this year, or postpone until later in the summer. That would be very unfortunate, given that most of our regulars have already indicated they're coming again and we have a confirmed attendee from Microsoft and the possibility of a second.

    Just a reminder that you don't need to be an expert in order to attend. Every year many people come who are "plain old admins", in fact such people are crucial to the success of the Retreat. Although everyone is expected to come up with a topic to cause a discussion, the topic might be "How do I do this?".

    Here's the web page for this year's Retreat;

    http://www.ntbugtraq.com/retreat.asp

    This year's NTBugtraq Retreat is being held between July 19th and July 22nd, from a Monday night to Thursday night.

    Tuesday morning will be a first. The Retreat will open on July 20th with me, and possibly you, delivering the Key Note address to the MIS Training Institute's Conference on Securing and Auditing Windows Technologies, live from beside the pool and lake at the Retreat to an auditorium full of folks at the Fairmont in Boston, MA. Should be interesting...;-]

    Other sessions so far identified are;

    1. Windows XP SP2 - How significant is it, will it represent Microsoft's
    efforts in the future?
    2. Windows Server 2003 Quarantine Server.
    3. The State of Spam - Talk about various anti-spam techniques as well
    as the state of X2KSpamAway.
    4. Malware Update - Talk about the trends in Malware, what's happened,
    what's coming.

    The balance of the discussion slots will be determined by you, the attendees. Everyone who attends needs to suggest a topic for discussion, one which they can speak to (either describing, or questioning) for about 15 minutes. As their firmed up they'll be added to the web page.

    We're hoping to have 44 people here this year.

    The cost for this year's Retreat will be Canadian $1500.00. This does not include accommodations, many past attendees have asked that accommodations be separate, so I've decided not to supply them at all. A list of accommodations is in the Retreat web page.

    So, check out the web page for all of the details about the location, meals, etc... and let me know if there's a possibility you might be able to attend.

    Cheers,
    Russ - NTBugtraq Editor
