    Well, an interesting thing came across my desk this morning. Among the more fervent replies to Ruben's initial message, where he said that as an ISP they have sent thousands of customers to www.windowsupdate.com, were several messages why an ISP would send them to that address rather than the "legitimate" address.

    So I'm talking with Steve Miles about Windows NAS (Network Accessible Storage devices) and MS03-026 (and updates in general). He's wondering if they're vulnerable, and if so, how to get updates for them. He has a Dell PowerVault 715N and he sends me a link from Dell's website that describes how to enable Windows Update on it;

    http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/stor-sys/spv715n/multlang/sec_updt.pdf

    So I'm reading through the docs and what do I find?

    "After backing up your NAS system, download the Critical Updates from the Microsoft website at www.windowsupdate.com."

    Look at that, Dell Computers telling people to go to www.windowsupdate.com!!

    Guess its not just ISPs that are sending folks to redirecting URLs after all.

    Cheers,
