FYI. I've had more than 30 reports of individuals having the same problem with single and multiple W2K systems. The problem does appear to be broad across the W2K installed base (servers and workstations.) Unfortunately, Microsoft hasn't responded to my query about this issue, and they have not pulled the patch yet either. So, as is the case for some people, looks like you'll continue to waste bandwidth and your time by having this patch repeatedly applied until someone over at MS figures out what's going on.
Apart from Susan Bradley's earlier suggestion, some have said you can look for the 811493.exe file on your system and execute it directly (in case it didn't complete during WU), or, one person suggested that uninstalling IE 6 and re-installing worked.
