Drakar Pty Ltd has announced the general availability of Inet Guardian Lite
v3.1, a free online service designed to help home users protect their
privacy and to protect their computers from malicious users, programs and
Internet sites. The new version supports a new simplified user interface and
adds over 30 new security and privacy related checks.

How to use:

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Navigate to http://www.drakar.com.au.
3. Click on "Activate your personal security Advisor" under the "Home
Solutions" section.
4. Select your Operating System from the drop-down list and click on
Continue.
5. Review the License Agreement and click Accept to begin the online
installation.
6. Click Yes if asked whether you want to install and run Inet Guardian
Lite.

About:

Inet Guardian Lite is a unique online service that acts as your personal
security advisor. This interactive security wizard guides you through the
process of hardening your computer to make it more resistant to attack and
misuse. In addition, it teaches you about good security practices and helps
you to identify and avoid risky online activity.

Inet Guardian Lite is currently able to advise on over 210 potential
security and privacy issues, which include topics relating to Web Browsers,
Security Zones, System Settings, COM/DCOM Settings, Backdoors, Trojans,
Anti-Virus Protection, Service Packs, Network Shares, Registry, File System,
Outlook Express and Microsoft Office.
