I have had numerous responses from people (18 no problems so far) with
seemingly identical configurations stating that they have had no
problems whatsoever with the W2K SP2 Security Rollup (Q311401) and
Exchange Server Admin (both 5.5 and X2K).
I've had one confirmation of Timothy's original issue, coming from
Alexander van der Heijden <boercr30@pop3.nl.net>.
I have received one more report about the rollup and Exchange 2000 SP2,
after installing the rollup Scott Kaufman <SKaufman@crewtech.com>
reports that his clients (Win98, W2K Pro, XP Pro) are no longer able to
see the Global Address List. Removing the rollup resolves the problem.
Kenneth Christensen <kc@proff-art.dk> reports that after installing the
rollup, HFNetchk reports missing hotfixes "dating almost a year back",
something it didn't do prior to the installation of the rollup. No
version of HFNetchk supplied, and no indication if an updated XML was
loaded (one that recognized the rollup, for example).
Chris Palmer <CPalmer@pcha.org.uk> reports that Deerfield Qbik Wingate
4.4.2 (and possibly other versions) appears to become unstable after the
application of the rollup. "Wingate engine became unresponsive, even
after several reboots. We were unable to log in via Gatekeeper, or use
Services or the Wingate Engine Monitor to successfully control the
service. The only working option was reinstallation of the Wingate
product which cured the problem."
Wade Thompson <wthompson@dacro.com> reports that after the rollup
installation, clients connected to Terminal Services via TSWEB are often
kicked out of their active session when another person logs in (not
sure, but I assume he means when another person logs into the console of
the Terminal Server, not when someone else logs in as a client).
Al. Andreou <ee4299@ee.teiath.gr> reports problems with Compaq SNMP
components.
