Win2k & XP IE 6 View Source bug?

Not sure if this is the appropriate forum to report this as I am not sure
who's the culprit.

If you create a folder on the Desktop called "notepad" or a file called
"notepad.bat", when clicking View Source in IE 6 (maybe other versions?) it
does not run "NOTEPAD.EXE", rather it tries to start "NOTEPAD" - which it
finds on the Desktop!! How it finds NOTEPAD on the Desktop I do not know -
the Desktop is certainly not in my path.

If you could convince someone to save a notepad.bat or some other nasty
(notepad.vbs?) on their desktop, you might cause some grief.
