* RealSecure (formerly BlackICE) Sentry 10/100 for Windows
NT 4.0 SP 6
* RealSecure (formerly BlackICE) Sentry Gigabit for Windows
NT 4.0 SP 6
* RealSecure (formerly BlackICE) Sentry Multi-Segment for
Windows NT 4.0 SP 6
* RealSecure (formerly BlackICE) Sentry Full-Duplex for
Windows NT 4.0 SP 6
* RealSecure (formerly BlackICE) Guard for Windows NT 4.0
Effective August 2003, Internet Security Systems will discontinue
support for the RealSecure Sentry and Guard product lines on the
Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack (SP) 6 operating system as noted
in the table below. The upcoming releases of RealSecure Sentry
and Guard family of products (formerly BlackICE), available in
Q4/2002, will not support Windows NT 4.0 SP 6 (Note: SP 6 is
the only NT platform that is supported for these products).
* This statement does NOT apply to customers using
RealSecure Network Sensor. An EOL schedule for Windows
NT was previously announced for this product. Also, note that
RealSecure Gigabit Network Sensor does not support Windows
* RealSecure Guard 3.1 customers using the older generation
Compaq Proliant DL380 and Dell PowerEdge 1550 on
Windows NT are included in this EOL announcement.
RealSecure Guard 3.1 running on the new generation Compaq
Proliant DL380 G2 and Dell PowerEdge 1650 support Windows
OS platform support for RealSecure Sentry and Guard product

Internet Security Systems' Technical Support will continue to
provide technical assistance and make reasonable efforts to
provide workarounds for problems with these products on the
Windows NT 4.0 SP 6 operating system until August 1, 2003.
However, we will not provide programmatic corrections to
errors for this platform.
This decision has been made in recognition of the retirement
statement from Microsoft on the availability and support of
Windows NT 4.0 SP 6:
The current version (3.1) of RealSecure Sentry and Guard product
lines are still fully supported on Windows NT 4.0 SP 6, but those
customers running this operating system should begin
investigating OS upgrade options with Microsoft. Our intention
with this notice is to allow our customers adequate time to plan
and implement migration of their computers to supported
operating environments with minimal impact.

decide which Windows operating system upgrade is right for you.

Support on the Windows NT 4.0 SP 6 platform for RealSecure
Sentry and Guard product lines will cease to be available from
ISS Technical Support after August 1, 2003.
In the meantime, Technical Support will continue to provide
telephone troubleshooting and workaround assistance, but the
resolution may be that the customer will need to upgrade to the
latest Windows Operating System or upgrade to RealSecure
Network Sensor/Gigabit Network Sensor. In addition,
Development/Engineering assistance may not be available.

Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, during their local time, excluding
ISS published holidays.
